In some rare cases it's possible that the 3d sensor has a discrepancy between the sensor's twin IR cameras or between the sensor and the iPad's camera.
Error pattern 1: Less or no colour feedback
During face recognition, the person being scanned should be coloured red. If the person is coloured less or not at all, then there is a discrepancy between the sensor's twin IR cameras.
Solution:
- Please run the Stereo Image Refinement
Error pattern 2: Colour overlay is shifted
During face recognition, the person being scanned should be coloured red. If the red overlay is shifted, then there is a discrepancy between the sensor and the iPad camera.
Solution:
- Please check that the sensor is correctly attached to the bracket and that the bracket is properly pressed against the edges of the iPad.
- Please calibrate your 3D Sensor
What is the importance of calibration?
The 3D Sensor work in tandem with your iPad’s camera. The iPad’s camera applies the high-definition color and texture of the objects being scanned. The 3D Sensor captures depth.
The problem is, the two cameras exist in two different places, and if run without calibration, would produce effects where the color from one object may shift over into the color of another. For example, say we were to scan a couch.
